Colm Larkin Appointed as CEO of Imirt

IMIRT, the Irish Game Makers Association, is thrilled to announce the appointment of Colm Larkin as its new Chief Executive Officer (CEO). With an illustrious career in the gaming industry and a deep commitment to fostering the growth of Ireland's game development community, Colm brings a wealth of experience and passion to his new role.

As CEO, Colm will work to strengthen IMIRT's role as a catalyst for collaboration, innovation, and advocacy within the Irish game development ecosystem. He will focus on expanding IMIRT's membership base, enhancing professional development opportunities, and championing the interests of Irish game developers on both national and international stages.

Colm is no stranger to the Irish game development scene, having spent the last 10 years running his own game studio, Gambrinous. With a track record of creating award-winning titles such as "Guild of Dungeoneering," Colm has demonstrated his ability to navigate the complexities of game development and entrepreneurship at all levels.

Maria O’Brien from the IMIRT board says ‘The IMIRT board is very happy to have someone of Colm’s calibre come on board to lead IMIRT going forward. IMIRT as an organisation has achieved so much as a voluntary led institution. We are very excited to see how much more we can do with Colm at the head’.

Colm Larkin adds ‘I am incredibly excited to lead IMIRT as its first CEO. Over the last decade, alongside running my own studio, I’ve dedicated myself to championing the Irish games community both within Ireland and abroad. I look forward to taking that to the next level as part of IMIRT.’

As Ireland’s games representative body, IMIRT has achieved a lot in support of the Irish industry in the last decade, including a new Digital Games Tax Credit (section 481A). With the appointment of our new CEO, IMIRT will lead the way for the development of all sectors of the digital games industry in Ireland. Imirt is supported by Fís Éireann/ Screen Ireland. the national development agency for the creative screen industries.

Colm will begin his role as CEO in June.
